据悉，《我是格鲁特》聚焦格鲁特宝宝时期的冒险与成长时光，《银河护卫队》系列导演詹姆斯·古恩确认，这个系列短片只是衍生动画作品，为儿童们打造，不必纠结其时间线，不用将其纳入银河护卫队三部曲的正史里。
