《飞黄腾达》由伊朗导演阿里·阿巴西执导，背景设定在上世纪七八十年代的纽约，讲述年轻时身为地产大亨的唐纳德·特朗普（塞巴斯蒂安·斯坦 饰），遇到了恶名远扬、擅于以掩饰真相来赢得斗争的律师罗伊·科恩（杰瑞米·斯特朗 饰），并在对方的指导下开始走进了一段讲述贪婪、权力、生意的黑暗艺术的黑色喜剧故事，还将描述了特朗普滥用苯丙胺减肥、吸脂、整容以及强奸第一任妻子伊万娜的过程。
