蝙蝠侠由鲍勃·凯恩和比尔·芬格为DC漫画公司创作，首次出现在1939年的侦探漫画第27期中。蝙蝠侠还被授予了吉尼斯世界纪录称号，不仅因为他是第一个授星的超级英雄，同时他还是真人电影中“被改编最多的漫画人物”，奖牌由DC首席创意官吉姆·李在现场代领。不过这并不是好莱坞星光大道第一次为虚构人物留星，兔八哥、米老鼠是首批获此殊荣的角色。
