网讯 近日，知名制片公司威秀电影公司（Village Roadshow）正式申请破产保护。威秀影业是华纳兄弟的长期合作方，并制作发行了一百余部电影，其中包括《黑客帝国》系列、《十一罗汉》《疯狂的麦克斯：狂暴之路》《头号玩家》《旺卡》等大热影片。
据报告称，威秀影业的破产部分缘于和华纳兄弟的法律官司，双方就《黑客帝国4》的发行策略长期对簿公堂。据称，华纳兄弟在发行该片时，临时决定同时在流媒体和院线上映，威秀影业认为这是一种明显的违约行为。
据悉，这场旷日持久的官司产生了1800万美元的法律费用，而目前所有的费用几乎都没有支付，使得威秀影业的公司资产负债表十分难看。此外，和华纳兄弟的合作是威秀影业最大的利润来源，威秀影业也认为自己和华纳兄弟之间的合作已经完全破裂，无法挽回。
