赫斯表示，自己对拍摄续集非常感兴趣，“游戏世界非常广阔，有很多我们想尝试但没能触及的地方。”角色Alex在电影片尾登场，也暗示了续集的可能性。
《我的世界大电影》根据沙盒建造独立游戏改编，讲述误入主世界的四个“异类”在资深工匠史蒂夫的帮助下展开奇妙冒险，发挥创造力，勇斗僵尸、猪灵，重返现实世界的故事。影片由杰森·莫玛、杰克·布莱克等主演，全球首周末票房破3亿美元，远超预期。
