1908年正是光绪末年，黄浦江两岸是满目疮痍，帝国主义的兵舰商船在黄浦江里横行霸道，船民常信根的小舢板被英国客轮撞毁。常信根无法生活，只得经人介绍到造船厂工作，受到外国把头的欺压。黄浦江水日夜流，转眼改朝换代到了民国。常信根的儿子常桂山长大成人，他也在造船厂当上了造船工人。经历了随后的大时代变革…… 展开全部
